Spooky Halloween Bark!

Can you believe it’s October already??  I can’t believe Halloween is just a couple of weeks away and the holidays are right around the corner!   I absolutely love this time of year!  The evenings are absolutely beautiful here in Indiana.
With the holidays approaching, I’m busy putting together delicious menus and dessert ideas for our many holiday parties. I love making homemade candy treats at Christmas time. Thanks to Pinterest, I found a Halloween Bark recipe and decided to give it a try.

What youll need...

2 lbs. white chocolate

1 pkg. Oreo cookies broken up into pieces
(Preferably Halloween Oreos – but I couldn’t find them, so I just used regular ones!)

3 cups salted pretzels, broken up into pieces

2 cups candy corn (Unless you find something you'd like better to use)

Directions

1)  Melt white chocolate in a double boiler until smooth.

2)  While chocolate is melting, combine oreos, pretzels, and candy corn in a large bowl.  Mix well.

3)  Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper to prevent the candy from sticking.

4)  Add mot of the cookie/pretzel/candy mixture to the white chocolate.  Mix well.

5)  Pour onto lined cookie sheet and spread evenly.  Top with remaining dry mixture and press into white chocolate.

6)  Refrigerate until set and break up into small pieces.  Serve & enjoy!

Hope you and your family enjoys this Spooky Halloween Treat!

Yep your read the title right. There is nothing not to love about this incredible treat!
This is a simple recipe no baking involved!  It reminds me a lot of Reese’s peanut butter cups just homemade I love them.  They are a perfect treat if you’re looking for something for all of your taste buds to enjoy!

What you'll need
1 & 1/2 sticks (12 Tbsp.) butter, melted

2 cups of graham cracker crumbs

1 & 1/2 cups confectioners sugar

1 & 1/4 cup smooth peanut butter

1 & 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
1)  In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, confectioners sugar, and 1 cup of the peanut butter.  Stir together until well combined.
2)  Press the mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish.
3)  Combine the chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate and peanut butter are melted and smooth.  Mix well.

Teen Pregnancy Support

As a Teen Mom I know finding out your pregnant can be stressful and scary. You’re the only one who can decide what to do, but there are people who can give you info and support. You’re not alone.

If you’re pregnant you have 3 options:
Parenting — giving birth and raising the child.
Abortion — ending the pregnancy.
Adoption — giving birth and giving the child to someone else, forever
If you think you might choose parenting or adoption, you need prenatal care (making an appointment with an OBGYN ) to make sure you stay healthy during the pregnancy. If you’re thinking about getting an abortion, make an appointment as soon as you can. Abortion is very safe, but there are more risks the longer you wait. And it can be harder to get an abortion as time goes by.
Whatever you decide to do, go to a doctor right away so they can help you stay healthy.

How do I tell my parents that I’m pregnant?

Even though it might feel scary, talking with your parents can really help. They can talk through your options with you, and make sure you get the health care you need.
Many people ( like myself ) worry that their parents will freak out, but that’s not always what happens. If you can, try to be open and honest. Start by telling your parents that you trust them and need their help and support. Most of the time, they just want to make sure you’re healthy and safe. If your parents do get upset, they may just need some time to calm down.
If you really feel like you can’t talk to your parents, try talking to another adult who you trust (like an aunt, grandparent, older sibling, school nurse, or counselor). If you’re worried that telling your parents you’re pregnant may put you in danger, tell a teacher, nurse or doctor, or other adult you trust.

Lavender Oil Uses

As a Mom I love finding natural remedies I can use for Dixie and around my house. So today I thought I would share a few ways you can use Lavender Oil hope you enjoy!

1. Calming
Rub 2-3 drops of lavender oil in your cupped palms, then use the inhalation method
You can also rub on the feet, temples, wrists for an immediate calming effect on the body.
2. Sleep aid
Again, use the cupping and inhalation method.
You can also, rub a drop of Lavender oil on your palms and smooth on your pillow to help you sleep.
3. Bee sting / Insect bite
Put a drop of Lavender oil on a bee sting or insect bite to stop itching reduce swelling.
4. Minor burn
Put 2-3 drops Lavender oil on a minor burn to decrease pain.
NO redness, swelling or pain. NO sign of any burn.
5. Cuts
Drop Lavender oil on cut to stop bleeding, clean wound, and kill bacteria.
6. Eczema / Dermatitis
Mix several drops of Lavender oil with a nut or vegetable mixing oil (I use coconut oil) and use topically on eczema and dermatitis.
7. Nausea or motion sickness
To alleviate the symptoms of motion sickness, place a drop of Lavender oil on end of tongue, behind the ears or around the navel.
(Works great for Morning Sickness)
8. Nosebleed
To stop a nosebleed, put a drop of lavender oil on a tissue and wrap it around a small chip of ice. Push the tissue covered ice chip up under the middle of the top lip to the base of the nose and hold as long as comfortable or until the bleeding stops.
9. Dry or chapped skin
Rub lavender oil on chapped skin.

Controversial Parenting Tag

Welcome back Lil Miss Mommy & Me Blog Followers!

Today I am going to be talking about Controversial Parenting. I have seen so many Youtube Moms doing the Controversial Parenting Tag and thought I would give my input on things.

To first start off ...
I do understand that everyone parents differently and has different views about these things. These are just my opinions and how I'm going to parent.

So please your comments below!

Bed Sharing

I personally do not agree with Bed Sharing. I believe Bed
Sharing puts your child at risk for sudden infant death syndrome, and can cause other dangers during sleep, like suffocation. I feel the best and safest place for your baby to sleep is in her own bassinet or crib placed close to your bed.

Spanking

Like I expressed in my past post about Discipline I do absolutely believe in spanking but it depends on the age of the child. I would never in a million hurt my baby girl. But once the child is about 2 years old and throwing a fit and telling them no or going into time out does not work i do feel that a little swat on the butt is absolutely okay. Butts weren't just made to look at.

Bottle Feeding

If you personally know me you would know that I breastfeed Dixie until she was 3 months old. Sadly my production dried up after being put on birth control (The Depo Shot). One thing us moms don't think about is Not all moms can breastfeed due to poor milk production, latching problems, and time issues.  In my opinion, we shouldn’t judge a bottle feeding mom because you never know her situation.

Natural VS Epidural

When I went into labor with Dixie I tried and tried to have an all natural labor I made it 7 hours and caved and got an epidural. So I guess i'm like 50/50 I would have loved to have a all natural labor but I would absolutely get another epidural if it meant I could love and cherish the birth of my little angel.

Ear Piercing

Being a mom to a baby girl I never found any problem with piercing Dixie's ears, but I did wait until she was almost 9 months old. You should always take into consideration that your child is young and don't have an immune system to fight an infection.

Medication

Again if you personally know me you would know that im an all natural momma. Like in some of my other post I have shared some of my natural remedies I use for Dixie when it comes teething, fever, and belly aches. But I am not against medication if its a serious situation.

Cry It Out Method

I wasn't a believer in crying it out until one night Micheal (My Husband) saw I was having an extremely hard night, he grabbed Dixie from my arms and laid her in her bed and let her cry. He sat there and helped me through it he went in every 5-10 minutes to reinsure her everything was okay and that we loved her. Finally after 30 minutes she fell asleep.
Crying it out has worked for my family but doesn't always work for others.

Vaccinations

Hell yes!!!! Dixie is completely up to date on her shot and will be vaccinated. I have watched and seen what unvaccinated child are like and they have many health problems and live a hard life.
But... when it comes to the flu shot I refuse due to past experiences I have had of getting it and being sick for several months after.
